ESL (English Second Language) Classes
Learn English to lead an easier-to-navigate life in the US. Based on individual skill levels, the lessons are student-centered and cater to your learning goals. Individuals are placed in class levels that best reflect their listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. Classes are intensive, with 4 hours of instruction every week, and instruction is given using language support.
Citizenship Classes
Becoming a U.S. citizen is a major milestone in the life of a new American. In our citizenship class, take a tour through American History and Civics. We offer FREE Citizenship Classes to anyone planning on taking the citizenship exam in the next 12 months. Students learn what to expect during the process of becoming a U.S. citizen, how to pass the exam, and the conversation skills necessary to pass the interview.
Family Reading Project
Using books appropriate for reading levels grades 1-5– depending on the student's literacy levels– we offer classes that educate parents on family reading routines and English grammar and vocabulary. Enhance your relationship with your family by sharing stories that teach you and your family English.
Literacy Program
The MFC’s Literacy Program is a ground-breaking model for educating people who may fall through the cracks in conventional ESL classes. These are students who may have little or no education in their native language or who have additional learning challenges. In the Literacy Program, individual needs and abilities are matched with smaller class sizes and individualized attention to give them their greatest chance of achieving their goals and giving back to society.
Parenting Program
Get on the same page as your children by offering them the gift of grace and wisdom as you hold their hand through the beginning of their life. Walk with your child through life's challenges to raise a child who is capable and willing to go the long mile. Our program helps parents of kids ages 5 to 12 raise responsible, cooperative, and caring children who are able to resist negative peer pressure and thrive.
Know Your Rights Program
Everyone has basic rights under the U.S. Constitution and civil rights laws. Learn more here about what your rights are, how to exercise them, and what to do when your rights are violated. Walk around with a sense of safety, security, and protection for you, your family, and your future generations.
