"Before DACA I felt lost," Sanjuana describes, "I felt like I did not belong here. I was always just paranoid, 'Oh I'm going to get pulled over.' I was scared to even go out. I got my DACA and I could work for my kids."

Not everyone comes from a similar situation, but they are all productive members of the community living in fear of deportation. Sanjuana is a mother of three, who moved to the United States when she was only 6 years old. The United States is the only home she knows, but she felt unwelcome and had trouble finding work without legal status.

"It was a very difficult and I would go out afraid that I would have an encounter with the police for an accident or anything. There was always a fear to go out on the street," Mina explained. "Before my life had become very different because I spent lots of money on many lawyers who only gave me excuses."

Mirna left behind children and came to the United States in the hopes of finding work and providing for her family. However, she found herself afraid and untrusting of the very country that was supposed to be her source of hope.

Sanjuana and Mirna are just some of the members of Grayson County living in fear and struggling to participate in daily activities. There are many others who simply want to work, visit their home countries, and live in stable circumstances but do not know where to go or are taken advantage of by false groups or individuals claiming to be certified legal immigration representatives.
